Training/Behavior Modification

Communication is the key factor in building a reliable relationship with your canine companion. Bev strongly recommends that your entire family becomes involved in understanding your dog’s behavior, because it will enhance the development of a solid relationship. Bev specializes in aggression issues and offers options for training, which include private consultations, 2 week individualized in home training programs and classes in Cortland and here at the Inn. She emphasizes non-aversive techniques, which support positive motivational reward methods. Choke, pinch or shock collars are not used. Enjoy your dogs cooperative behavior through a fun, loving, and learning environment.

Luke with his new friends at the horse show on a down stay. He is a 6 month old Beauceron puppy. Luke was staying at the "Wag" Side Inn for 2 weeks of training. Field trips are a regular component to Bev's individualized comprehensive training program.

Now, this is what obedience classes should be all about! Who cares about sit and stay?

"We sure are learning a lot in obedience class!" says Pepper and Darcy. Socializing is an integral part of your dog's maturation process. As your dog learns to communicate with other dogs it opens up a new level of communication with you. All you have to do is learn how to speak dog!

    Hi Lynda,

I’m sorry I haven’t responded sooner, but we have been hit by a lot of spam through the questions and comments on our website.

This sounds like a fairly advanced case of separation anxiety. Yes, I do have some help for you. This is difficult to change and will take some hard work and time. This is much to involved for an email. Are you in CNY? Did you want to make an appointment?

I have to compliment you on the work you have done so far, especially not yelling at him which will make it worse.

Look forward to hearing back from you.

    Hi Lynda,

I am so sorry I haven’t gotten back to you sooner. We have been having trouble with comments and emails from our website recently. I have to go through them separately and have struggled to keep up with all of them.

I would be happy to help you. We can do a phone consult, but I always like to meet the dogs I work with as it helps me to advise you better. From North Syracuse to here is about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Let’s talk on the phone to set a time together. I have a lot of questions for you. Probably just as many as you have for me. Call me at 607-842-6990.

I have a questionnaire on the website which I would like for you to fill out. This will help me to set up a plan prior to our first appointment. Go to behavior questionnaire. When you finish filling it out hit send. It will come to me via email and you will get a copy too. My rates are $40.00/hr is you come here or on the phone. The first time we meet will be approximately 2 hours. If I come to your house it will be $125.00.

Winston is absolutely adorable. I will have to thank Jennie at class next week. I paid her big buck to say nice things about me. LOL

Let me know what you would like to do.
