Employment Form

Prior to filling out the application you may want to read about our employment opportunities.

Physical Work: Applying for a position at “Wag” Side Inn will mean hands-on work with the animals. You should be aware that it can be physically challenging. It will involve lifting, carrying, being dragged around, working outside in all seasons, dealing with animal waste of all kinds, cleaning, and dealing with the public.

Evaluation Period: Our positions require a minimum of a two-week paid evaluation period before a person is hired. This is for the benefit of both you and “Wag” Side Inn. We both have the opportunity to see if it is a good fit. Interviews are conducted prior to the start of the evaluation period and a schedule will be discussed.

Pay Scale: Rate of pay will depend on experience. Time and a half is paid on holidays and after 40 hours.

Benefits: Health benefits depend on full or part-time. This will be discussed depending on the position in which you are applying.   Other benefits include bringing your dogs to work and having a place for them to stay when you are away free of charge.

Work Week: We have 14 shifts per week that need to be covered by animal caregiver positions. The shifts are approximately 7:30-11:30 a.m. and 3:30-8:00 p.m. 7 days/week. Work weeks can be flexible.  With flexibility comes an understanding that we are busiest when the rest of the world is on vacation. All holidays, school breaks, and summer vacations, we are full and need the most help. You will have to work more during the holiday season, however, you may only have to work a couple of hours on the holiday itself, leaving the rest of the day to spend with family.
